Shineh Kim is a Mom, Artist and Educator/Founder of Shineh
Art Studio, LLC. She specializes in fine art, currently lives and works in the Washington DC Metropolitan area where she teaches visual arts to students in grades K-12th to
college transfers. Shineh's love of art started at a very young age. Shortly after she immigrated from South Korea at age 15 she was recognized as Maryland's Emerging Young Artist from MAEA (Maryland
Art Education Association). She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art specializing in the field of Illustration, receiving a scholarship for her artistic achievement as a finalist in the
Maryland Distinguished Scholars Program.
Shineh started Shineh Art Studio, LLC in 2003, inspired to share her knowledge/enthusiasm and experience with
the next generation of young artists. Shineh is a three-time nationally recognized art educator from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
Many of her students have been admitted to prestigious art colleges and universities with excellent art programs such as Rhode Island
School of Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Pratt, Parsons, School of Visual Arts, University of California-Berkeley, University of MD, Columbia University, School of the Art Institute of
Chicago, Upenn, Carnegie Mellon, Ringling College of Art + Design, Virginia Commonwealth University, Cornell University, Duke University and many more.
